Abstract: To solve the power quality problem in V/V co-phase railway power supply system, a hybrid compensation system based on MSVC and HPQC is proposed in this paper. To minimize the capacity of HPQC, the capacity of MSVC is conducted. The harmonic current is eliminated by passive and active filters. So the negative, reactive and harmonic currents are fully compensated. Based on the instantaneous current detecting and reactive current distribution method, the collaboration control strategy is proposed. The responding speed is satisfied. Compared with traditional active compensation method, the capacity and DC voltage of active compensator are reduced. The simulation and experiment results verify the correctness of the proposed hybrid compensation system.
