Abstract: The full length of the Wuling Bridge Project in Ganzhou is 1700 m.For the landscape effect,the main bridge across the Zhangjiang River is required to be designed as a five-span arch bridge with bridge heads,and the single span must be flat arch.By bridge type scheme comparison and selection,the recommended scheme for the main bridge is a five-span reinforced concrete arch bridge with span arrangement of(72+78+80+78+72)m and deck width of 35.5m.In the structural design,the arch axis coefficient of the main arch ribs adopts 2.0,and the rise-tospan ratios for the spans 1/7.3,1/6.8,1/6.6,1/6.8,1/7.3,respectively.The main(spandrel)arch ribs are transversely divided into four pieces,each being the two-cell single box structure with cross section increasing in height from the arch spring to the arch crown.The main arch spring is the unhinged arch structure with the arch crown closed by pushing while the spandrel arch spring adopts the two-hinge arch structure.The deck beam is the light-weightπ-shaped beam with small cast-in-situ amount.The intermediate piers(piers No.2~No.5)adopt the bored pile foundations,whereas the two side piers(pier No.1and pier No.6)adopt the gravity spread foundation which are able to resist horizontal force.
