Clinical effect of Haikunshenxi capsule in diabetic patients with nephropathy

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Haikunshenxi capsule in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods: Clinical data of 196 patients with diabetic nephropathy in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into Haikunshenxi capsule and control groups( n = 98 in each group),they were treated with conventional symptomatic treatment alone( control) or combined with Haikunshenxi capsule. Clinical responses,symptom scores and laboratory indicators before and after treatment were compared. Results: The total efficiency of patients in Haikunshenxi group was 85. 71%,and significantly higher than in control patients( 65. 30%,P < 0. 05). Chinese medicine( TCM) symptoms showed no significant difference in both groups before treatment; after treatment the symptom scores of III and IV patients in Haikunshenxi group were( 18. 15 ± 3. 46)points,( 37. 58 ± 7. 95) points,which were significantly lower than those in control group( P < 0. 05). All laboratory indicators had no significant difference between two groups before treatment; after treatment,proteinuria was( 0. 85 ± 0. 21) g·24 h- 1,C- reactionprotein( CRP)( 1. 03 ± 0. 46) μg·L- 1,Triglyceride( TG)( 1. 04 ± 0. 53)mmol·L- 1,and Serum creatinin( Scr)( 81. 8 ± 13. 30) μmol·L- 1in Haikunshenxi group,which were significantly lower than those in control group. Glomerular filtration rate( GFR) level was( 56. 58 ± 11. 27) m L·min- 1·1. 732 m- 2in Haikunshenxi group,which was significantly higher than control group( P < 0. 05). Adverse reactions had no significant difference between two groups. Conclusion: Haikunshenxi capsule can significantly improve symptoms and various laboratory parameters in diabetic patients with nephropathy.
