Abstract: Based on the knowledge of power and rotating speed of electric motor of secondary compressor in EVA plant,analysis and comparison was made on the structure,starting performance and power factors of synchronous motor and asynchronous motor,and the superiorities of asynchronous motor in applications of low rotating speed and high power.The basis for selection of motor type was raised to provide guarantee for operation of the project.
