Abstract: A quantitative determination of minocycline by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography is described. The method used a Waters 10 C18 4.6mm I. D. × 250mm reversed-phase column, with a mobile phase composed of 30% dimethylformamide-70% water containing0.02mol/L citric acid(pH≈2.5), detector’s wavelength was set at 350 nm, and flow-rate was maintained at 1.0ml/min. Minocycline can be separated efficiently from epi-minocy-cline, demethyltetracycline, and demethylchlorteracycline.
