Abstract: Oxalysine is an antitumor antibiotic and showed antitumor activity against various animal solid tumors. In the present paper, the influence of oxalysine on the immune respones of tumor-bearing mice was studied.A neutralization activity against tumor cell was observed by Winn method using spleen cell of tumor-bearing mice which had been pretreated with oxalysine 200 mg/ kg ip× 7 .The mixture of spleen and tumor cell was s.c.into the mice and a mean tumor weight of 0.5±0.3g was observed. In untreated control the mean tumor weight was 1.0±0.5g. Hence oxalysine possesses a slight immune stimulation on the spleen cell of tumor-bearing mice.T lymphocyte count was determined by histochemical staining technique using acid α-naphthyl acetate esterase. The mean count of esterase-positive lymphocytes obtained from spleen or blood were determined. On day 3, day 6 , day 9 after implantation of tumor the number of esterase-positive lymphocytes was determined and no significant change was noted. The same result was also obtained when oxalysine was ad-ministred with various doses ranging from 100 to 200 mg/kg.
