Abstract: A new indole antibiotic, Valindolmycin was isolated from fermentation broth of a mutant obtained from a leucomycin-producer, S.kitasatoensis var.wenshanensis n. var. Isolation, purification and physico-chemical properties of Valindolmycin were described. Based on spectral evidences, the structure of Valindolmycin was elucidated as formula (1).
