Abstract: A database for the research of new antibiotics and other microbial products has been established by Institute of Medicinal Biotechnlogy.The database contains 6350 antibiotics and their biological,physio-chemical characteristics up to 1987.This database can be operated on the microcomputer IBM PC/XT, as well as on other compatible microcomputers of IBM PC series, and tranferred to the users as a free format database including 14 pieces of 360K diskettes.The course of the establishment and the functions of the datadase were described in this paper.
