Abstract: Comparison of the in vitro antibacterial activity of home-made Ceft-riaxone(CTRXc)with Swiss-made Ceftriaxone(CTRXs)and other Cephalosporins were carried out against 221 strains isolated recently. The results showed that the MIC50 and MIC90 of CTRXc and CTRXs were similar, and the cumulative percentage curves of both well-paralell each other. It may explained the same in vitro antimicrobial activities ot both Ceftriaxone.Ceftriaxone was most active against Gram-negative bacilli. Both of the Ceftria xone and Ceftaxime have highest antimicrobial activities against Escherichia coli.. Salmonella., Proteus., Shigella and Klebsilla with geometric mean (GM) MIC 0.06 to 0.12μg/ml. Cefoperazone is less active than other Cephalosporins against Gramnegative bacill.Ceftazidime was the most active agent against Pseudomonas aeruginasa with GM MIC 1.56μg/ml. Both of the Ceftriaxone and Cefparazone were second goo agents with GM MIC 4 and 4.5 μg/ml.Cefazoline and Cefamandole have highest activities against Staphylococcus aureus with GM MIC 0.9μg/ml. The order of activity against Staph. aureus is following: Ceftaxime, Cefoperazone and Ceftriaxone.
