TREATMENT OF CHRONIC HEPATITIS B WITH INTRACELLULAR POLYSACCHARIDE——POLYSTICTUS VERSICOLOR (L) Fr.OPPV)-A CLINICAL OBSERVATION OF 240 CASES

Abstract: 240 cases of chronic hepatitis B were treated with IPPV and among them the therapeutic efficacy of 216 cases was evaluated, (132 cases of chronic persistent hepatitis and 84 ca -ses of chronic active hepatitis). It showed remarable efficacy in 85 cases(39.3%), improvement in 74 cases(34.3%)and no efficacy in 57 cases (26.4%). The rate of efficacy was 73.6%. HBsAg became negative in 39 cases(23.9%) and HBsAg titer decreased in 54 cases (33.1%), The circulating immune complex (CTC) became negative and the PHA skin test improved significantly(P<0.01). No remarkable adverse effect was found during the IPPV administration.
