Abstract: A aew antibiotic,Oxyplicacetin was iso-ated from the fermentation filtrate of Str. ramulose Tu-34. After successive purification procedures(e.g. adsorption and elution on silica gel column and preparative thin layer chromatography), the purified anti- biotic was obtained. The chemical structure was elucidated from the physico-chemical properties, spectral evidences(e. g. UV, IR, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR and MS), and its tetraacetate derivative and as well as its degradation products by sodium hydroxide hydrolysis.Oxyplicacetin is 3’-hydroxyplicacetin and belongs to nucleoside antibiotic family -Amicetin group.
