Abstract: <正> The antibiotic research is one ofthe most productive and successfulareas of the natural product field.Fromthe early forties up to now more than9000 natural products were discoveredwhich have some antimicrobial, antiviral,antitumor or similar activities. Table1. illustrates the approximate numberof presently known antibiotic compoundsaccording to their main sources. The numbers in Table 1. include
