Abstract: A simple method has been devised for the screening of inhibitors of pepsin, chy-motrypsin, trypsin and alpha-amylase inhib-itor. The features of the method are: l,the agar plate is mixed with substrate of the specified enzyme; 2, the culture filtrate and the enzyme are mixed under the optimum conditions of enzyme’s reaction. The reaction mixture is incubated for 30 minutes at 37℃; 3, the agar plate is plugged with cork borer to form a hole of 9mm in diame-ter; 4, the reaction mixture is dropped in to the hole; 5, after incubation at a given time, the result is observed. If there is no zone formed, the culture filtrate is supposed to contain the enzyme inhibitor. This method is different from plate methods proposed by Kakinuma A et al and of He Ji-chun(何继春). The vitreous zone obtained by our method is clear. This method is simple and quantity of enzyme used is small.
