Abstract: The effects of China-made Aclacinomy-cin B(ACM B) on RNA, DNA and protein synthesis in mouse lymphocytic leukemia L1210 cells have been studied. In addition, its inhibitory effects on mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma and its lung metastasis have also been observed. Our experimental results showed that ACM B caused significant inhibitory effects on RNA and DNA syntheses of L 1210 primary cells, which on RNA synthesis was much more remarkable than on DNA synthesis and more intense than those of Adriamycin and Daunomycin. It produced, however, a less pronounced inh-ibitory effect on protein synthesis of mouse L 1210 primary cells. Our results also showed that ACM B administered through i.p. or p. o. all had distinct inhibitory effects on subcutaneous tumor growth and lung metastasis formation in mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma.
