Abstract: The coagulation performances in different kaolin systems were investigated, and the results indicated that when AlCl3 was used as coagulant, the floc size increased with increasing the concentration from 10 mg/L to 20 mg/L in micro kaolin system, and when the concentration was 40 mg/L,the floc size decreased. The recovery factor in larger breakage rate(400 r/min) condition reached the smallest at 20 mg/L in micro-system.The strength factor and recovery factor in nano system were smaller under smaller concentration(10 mg/L),but when the concentration increased to 20 mg/L or 40 mg/L,they increased at smaller breakage rate(200 r/min)due to the bridging effects of nano particles. When Al30 was used at the same dosage, the floc size after regrowth and recovery factor decreased due to larger charge neutralizing ability.
