Mechanism and prevention of slag sticking of refractory used in high temperature heating furnace for hot rolling

Abstract: Because of slag sticking of refractory in high temperature heating furnace for hot rolling,the heating furnace was repaired frequently and the cost was increased and the production was influenced.The constitution and structure of slag sticking of refractory for walking beam,pillar and dyke were analyzed combining with the properties of refractory used in high temperature heating furnace.The results showed that the slab was easy to oxidize into Fe2O3,The melting points of slag sticking of different parts were above 1 500 ℃,which were higher than the highest heating temperature 1 370 ℃.One important reason of slag sticking was that the refractoriness under load was low and deformation was large.The measures such as adopting antisticking coating,improving the properties of refractory and so on could raise the service life of heating furnace.
