Clinical Observations on Luhong Granule for Treatment of Coronary Atherosclerotic Heart Disease and Cardiac Insufficiency

Abstract: Objective To observe the effects of Luhong granule(LHG)for treatment of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CAD)and cardiac insufficiency.Methods We choose 63 patients who were diagnosed of CAD with cardiac insufficiency and conformed to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)yang deficiency syndrome and blood stasis syndrome.They were randomly divided into control group of 32 patients,2 cases fell off and 30 cases had completed,given the standard treatment of western medicine and treatment group of 31 patients,1 cases fell off and 30 cases had completed,given standard western medicine treatment based up on Luhong granule.After 3 months we observed their TCM symptoms and scores,B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP),Ultrasonic cardiogram(FS,LVEF,SV),cardiac functional grading and Minnesota quality of life scores,6 minute walk distance in order to evaluate the treatment of CAD with cardiac insufficiency of Luhong granule.Results The TCM symptom,BNP,ultrasonic cardiogram,cardiac functional grading and Minnesota quality of life scores,6 minute walk distance in treatment group were better than that in control group.Conclusion Luhong granule can improve TCM symptom in patients with CAD and cardiac insufficiency and reduce BNP.Luhong granule can strengthen the cardiac systolic function,stroke volume and cardiac function of patients.Luhong granule can improve cardiac functional grading of patients and increase living quality and exercise tolerance of patients.
