Abstract: Objective: To explore the principle of hypoxia imaging and its application in raditherapy. Methods: The basic principle of hypoxia imaging was firstly explained in the paper, then we could learn not only the common hypoxia imaging agents, but also hypoxia imaging guidance on intensity-modulated radiotherapy and predict the effect of radiotherapy. Results: Nitroimidazoles and non-nitroimidazole hypoxia imaging agent are widely used in clinical, hypoxia imaging can guide intensity- modulated radiotherapy, the degree of hypoxia before radiotherapy or the hypoxia trend before and after radiotherapy can predict the effect of raditherapy. Conclusions: The PET and SPECT biological imaging can compensate for the lack of anatomical images, quantitatively and qualitatively reflect tumor hypoxia zone, which have very important potential applications in the development and evaluation of radiotherapy prognosis in radiotherapy.
