Abstract: It has first been reported that Tb（Ⅲ）is oxidated by K2S2O8 in the heteropoly- tungstophosphate complex.The complex ion,[Tb（Ⅳ）(PW11O39)2]10-,is stable in aqueous solution only for hours,being graduately reduced to[Tb（Ⅲ）(PW11O39)2]11-.It is red-brown,with absorption band at about 420 nm.
