Abstract: A study of the quenching of pyrene fluorescence by a series of alkyltriphenylphosphonium bromides indi- cated the coiling conformation of ionic surfactant in aqueous solution.Formation of pyrene excimer in cetyltriph- enylphosphonium solution strengthened the conclusion.
