Abstract: The design philosophy,calculational methods of bearing capacity and settlement of multi-element composite pile foundation with long and short piles are discussed.Meanwhile,taking foundation treatment engineering of compounding with lime-sand pile and CFG pile for example,the design,construction technique and treating effect on it are described.Engineering practice shows that,the composite pile foundation with long and short piles has multifarious compounding form,which do not restrict types of piles,which can actualize single-element or multi-element compounding,and so it can make full use of the potentials of soil and long and short piles.Long and short piles foundation demands fewer long piles,but it can effectively improve foundation bearing capacity;and it can control the average settlement and differential settlement;effectively,therefore,it will be very immensity foreground of engineering practice.
