Abstract: An improved method of stability analysis of the slope with soft clay layers was pro- posed in this paper. This method combines general slice method with the analysis of slip plane along the soft layer, which can define safety coefficient reasonably and use com- puter easily in stability analysis of slope. The computational comparison of several dif- ferent methods for a slope show that the proposed method is reasonable.
