Abstract: Coastal fluvial channel processes and influence factors in Lixiahe area are studied, based on data of runoff and sediment transport in river courses downstream the tidal gates in Sheyanghe,Huangshagang,Xinyanggang,Doulonggang river in Jiangsu Province since 2008. The study shows that sediment erosion and deposition volume with the relevant flow volume and the average discharge downstream the tidal gates in non-floodseason,except Sheyanghe river. There are obvious relevance between the sediment erosion and deposition volume with sediment erosion per unit flow and the initial river channel capacity downstream the tidal gates of those four channels in flood season. The period average discharge is obtained for maintaining the balance of erosion and deposition. Finally,an indicator to judge the silting characteristics is suggested,by the product of water discharge timing deposition sediment.
