Abstract: 10 postnatal 5~12 days rabbit brains have been studied with Falck-Hillarp fluores- cence histochemical method There are plenty of catecholamine-containing and 5-HT neurons,as well as fluorescence terminals,in the rabbit brain,tn the medulla oblongata the CA cells are segregated into a ventrolateral and a dorsomedial group.In the pons there are three interconnected groups of CA cells,the ventrolateral pontine group,the locus coeruleus group and subcoeruleus group.The midbrain contains a reticular form- ation group,a substantia uigra group and a medial group of CA ceils.In the diencep- halon the CA cells are divided into four groups,the caudal group,the periventrical group, the dorsal group and the ventrolateral group The 5-HT cells are found in nuclei raphe,including nuc.raphe pallidus,nuc.raphe obscurus,nuc.raphe magnus,nuc.cen- tralis superior,nuc.raphe dorsalis,nuc.liuearis intermedius and nuc.linearis rostralis. No fluorescence cells have been found in the nuc.raphe pontis,and only a few cells in nuc.raphe obscurus,nuc.centralis superior,and nuc.linearis rostralis.
