Abstract: Serial sections of extrinsic ocular muscles of the cat, stained with the modified Glees’silver impregnation method, were used for this study. Seven types of sensory nerveendings were found: vine-like endings, spiral endings, free endings, sensory spools, arboreal endings, snail-like endings, and end bulbs. The sprial endings of the extrinsicocular muscles of the cat were as numerous and complicated as that of man and mon-key. The nerve fiber encircles the muscle fiber 3--9 times. The snail-like endings andnerve fiber knots found by the authors have not been described in the previous litera-ture.
