Abstract: A new decoupling internal model control (IMC) design method based on global multi-model is presented for controlling the multi-input multi-output system that are subject to multiple operating regimes. This method uses local vertex linear models to construct the inner model and count the local decoupling controllers that are then interpolated using their respective weighting functions to form the global controller. The method needs only a few local vertex models to form the decoupling controller, so it is valuable for application. Examples are given to illustrate the design process. Compared with the decentralized IMC, significant performance improvement has been achieved with the proposed approach.
