Abstract: This paper presents the research of the positivity real condition for MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System) design. An analysis has shown that there is great limitation in the positive-real condition given by Y.D. Landau in the reference [1], because it is the ideal condition under the limit supposed. A generalized positive-real condition derived in this paper is not constrained by this supposed condition and it can be widely applied to MRAS designs. The design results are given out for demonstrating the above conclusions.
