Effect of compound ?-Ketoacid on blood pressure change in patients with chronic kidney disease

Abstract: Objective Evaluate the impact with compound α-Ketoacid on blood pressure change in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD). Methods Selected 64 patients of CKD 3-5 grade combined with hypertension but without hemodialysis treatment. Patients were given a standard low protein diet [0.6 g/(kg·d)]and compound α-Ketoacid(2.52g, tid) for six months. A statistic method was used to compare blood pressure, PTH and kidney function changes before and aftr treatment. Results Patients who received compound α-Ketoacid treatment for 6 months, were observed to have SBP and DBP, PTH signifi cant decreased, but the serum creatinine and urea nitrogen have no differences statistically. Conclusion Low protein diet and compound α-Ketoacid treatment probably helps to control patients’ high blood pressure.
