Abstract: Bayan-Obo gabbros which are engulfed and enclosed by the granites outcrop are located very near the Bayan-Obo Deposits. The gabbros have relatively high Al content (19%) and belong to calc-alkaline series. It is believed that the different types of gabbro including leuco-gabbro-gabbro-alkaline gabbro are related to each other by fractional crystallization. The early precipitating phase is ieucogabbro, the later is alkaline gabbro. Therefore, the alkali and LIL (including LREE) show a trend of increasing contents with fracdonation of magma.
