Abstract: At present, the substation image monitoring system used in the power industry is a general system, which is not specially designed for the power system and can’t meet the requirements of the smart grid. In this paper, an intelligent inspection system is specially designed based on image monitoring to meet the requirements of power system, which is developed based on the general image monitoring system to replace the manual inspection to achieve the intelligent substation inspection. The practice has proved that the system meets the requirements of power industry and brings good economic benefi ts with the labor reduction and the effi ciency improvement. And the special inspection used in dangerous area can reduce the security risk of worker.
