Investigation and Analysis of High School Biology Teachers--Take Yulin City for Example

Abstract: The paper discusses the high school biology teachers in Yulin. The basic structure, configuration, workload, employment, income, academic dissertation and further study and training situation of the biology teachers are studied by means of questionnaire and interview. Through the analysis, we found that there existed many negative factors affecting the development of high school biology teachers: (1) the structure of teacher team is irrational; (2) there is a big gap between pubic and private schools, town and county schools in the aspect of staff arrangement, staff training and income. (3) biology teachers’ workload is heavy, and teachers have obtained fewer development opportunities. (4) teaching investment is inadequate for biology teaching development. The paper, in accordance with the new requirements for high school biology teachers under the new condition, puts forward some countermeasures for promoting the development of high school biology teachers.
