Abstract: The ring artifacts are the common faults in third generation CT.The cause of the formation of the ringartifacts is analysed in this article.Our results reveal that the contribution of each channel of the dataacquisition system to CT images is mainly a circle.The relations between the radii of the ringartifacts and the troublesome channel addresses of the data acquisition system are given.
