Abstract: Autonomous learning is of far-reaching realistic significance to enhance students’ comprehensive English ability, and their awareness of life-long learning and cultivation of ability. Teachers’ involvement in autonomous learning is both important and necessary. Based on the related theories of autonomous learning, the paper is a survey of teachers’ involvement in English majors’ autonomous learning by means of questionnaires and interview targeted at English majors in Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages. Some measures for teachers’ effective involvement are put forward on the basis of the investigation.
