Abstract: Objective:To study the role of letukotriene in the pathogenesis of acne vulgaris.Method:The levels of letukotriene B4, letukotriene C4, letukotriene E4 in serum from 65 patients with acne vulgaris and 40 normal controls were analyzed.Result:The serum levels of letukotriene B4 in acne vulgaris were sig-nificantly higher than those in normal controls( P<0.05) ;There were no significant differences in letukot-riene C4 and letukotriene E4 levels between the patients with acne vulgaris and those normal controls ; but there were no significant differences in letukotriene B4, letukotrieneC4, letukotriene E4 levels between the patients with different degrees of acne vulgaris.Conclusion:The findings indicate that letukotriene B4 may be closely assoiated with the pathogenesis of acne vulgaris.
