Abstract: High active betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase (BADH, EC 1.2.1.8) is found in wild Suaeda liaotungensis. The enzyme is purified 206-fold with recovery of 1.5%. It have a specific activity of 2363 nmol/min*mg protein and the molecular mass of each subunit is 64.5 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE.
