Abstract: The mercury compressibility is studied by blank experiments with mercury penetration method in this paper. The experimental data are fitted with a reasonable mathematical model and the functional relation between mercury compressibility a and pressure P are founded in the processes of increasing and decreasing pressure. While calculating the parameters of porous texture, it is found through contrasting and analyzing that the influence of the mercury compressibility oncaleulating the results of mercury penetration method can not be neglected.
