Abstract: Objective To investigate the inhibitory effect of the saponins from melilotus officinalis L. on MCF-7,PC3 M,ACC,A549 and SW620 cell lines proliferation in external. Methods The inhibitory effects of 5 cell proliferation were evaluated by CCK-8. Results The results showed that the saponins from melilotus officinalis L. inhibited the growth in MCF-7,PC3 M,ACC,A549 and SW620 cells. After 72 hours,The IC50 was 0. 45,0. 73,1. 05,1. 17 and 1. 19 mg / m L,and displayed the no toxicity to normal cell. Conclusion The saponins from melilotus officinalis L. can inhibit cell proliferation of five cell lines and it has low toxicity effect to normal cell line. we screened out the most sensitive cell lines which were MCF-7 and PC3 M cancer cell lines. It is worth for further basic and clinical research.
