ZHANG Zhongjing’s medication rule for abdominal pain

Abstract: There are many contents about the rule for abdominal pain in Treatise on Febrile Disease and Synopsis of Golden Chamber,such as the etiology and pathogenesis,the nature of pain,the location of pain,etc. In addition,there are degrees of advance in the prescription,incompatibility,boiling method,recuperation,and so on. The pain site are emphasized. Clearing method should be used for epigastrium. Warming therapy should be used for midabdomen. Tonifying therapy should be used for hypogastrium. Drugs with sweet flavor such as maltose,liquorice,jujube should be adopted. The flexible use of wine,insect drugs and"toxic"medicine should be used to unblock collaterals. Taking methods and drug conditioning should be given attention. All of these skills that have mentioned above fully embodies the‘medication such as the use of forces’.
