Abstract: Water tube settlement instrument is one of the main instruments for monitoring the safety of earth and rock dam.The error of its measurement is mainly composed of the following parts:the structure of the pipeline system;the stability and combined accuracy of sensor etc.At present,some problems have been found on its practical application in engineering field:the complex of the installation,mainly manifesting the links between control box and many other components;the measuring mode of sensor for it needs many transformations when measuring water level in the observation tube,leading to the ineffective vent of air.Based on the above situation,the paper mainly focuses on the optimization research of water tube settlement instrument in the practical application.
