Abstract: Actin-binding protein is a protein that can combine with the actin monomer, polymer and other proteins. As an important actin-binding protein, actin-binding protein 2(Transgelin-2) can distribute in the smooth muscle cells and non-smooth muscle cells. Transgelin-2 gene is widely expressed in various tissues and organs of the body, which is positioned on a variety of sub-cellular level, and it may be shifted position at different pathophysiological states. Transgelin-2 protein may be a specific tumor marker and is believed to participate in a variety of malignant diseases. In order to provide a possible reference for the relevant mechanism research, the characteristics of Transgelin-2 protein, subcellular localization and the corresponding biological functions were reviewed in this paper.
