Abstract: In order to enhance reaction degree of TGase catalyzing ε-PLL grafted onto the wool fabrics, hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate and DCCA were used to pretreat wool fabrics. The ammonia release, dyeing property, antibacterial property, wetting ability and surface morphology of ε-PLL grafted wool fabrics catalyzed by TGase were compared. The results revealed that pretreatment of wool fabrics could improve the enzymatic reaction, but different pretreatment had different effect.DCCA pretreated wool fabrics showed the best effect with an ammonia release amount of 1.748μg/mL,the shortest wetting time and the highest rate of inhibiting bacteria for staphylococcus aureus.Potassium permanganate pretreatment followed DCCA pretreatment, and hydrogen peroxide pretreated wool fabrics showed the worst effects.
