Analysis of risk factors for morning blood pressure surge

Abstract: Objective To analyze the risk factors for the morning blood pressure surge(MBPS).Methods Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring was performed in 90 cases,of whom 38 cases were with newly diagnosed essential hypertension(group A),20 cases with "white coat"hypertension(group B),and 32 cases with normal blood pressure(group C).MBPS indexes and influence factors were observed and analyzed.Results Compared to those in groups of B and C,the patients in group A were with more obvious MBPS,larger waist circumference,higher levels of low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL)and triglyceride and lower level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol(P<0.05).MBPS of both "sleep-valley"and "before wake-up"was positively correlated with age,waist circumference,hypertension and LDL(P<0.05).Conclusion MBPS is more obvious in the population with advanced age,hypertension and higher LDL.
