Abstract: The moment method is used to compute the current distributions and the input impedances of vertical bare wire antennas and dielectric coated wire antennas in the presence of a conducting half-space.An approximate model of the exciting source is appropriate for the computational method used in the paper is presented. Several numerical results are given and compared with the experimental ones. By analysis of these results, some useful conclusions are drawn.
