Abstract: The 22 nd APEC economic leaders’ meeting was held in Beijing Nov. 2014. Leaders showed themselves in Chinese style in Water Cube, which caused wide public concern and common recognition. The author, as one of the designer of APEC costume, summarized the design process and methods and tried to analyze the achievements of APEC design from the view of culture genes. What’s more, the questions of how to confront our national costume continuity and innovations are to be discussed by Chinese fashion designers.
