On Modularizing English Skill Courses for English Majors in Vocational Colleges

Abstract: Focused on optimizing modularizing English elements courses and skill courses,the paper is to ex-plore the possible combination ways of these two types of courses. Based on experiments,it has been clearly found that in actual course arrangement these two types are still following the traditional distributed ways of delivery, which ignores the uniqueness of the nature of English as a tool and skill course. The traditional arrangement mode leads to vocational college graduatesˊpoor language performance,therefore,it cannot match the requirements of the destined jobs. It is shown in this study that if the rules of cultivating skills to re - modularize the combination of English elements courses and skill courses should be employed,if that,the English skills of the vocational college students will be improved to a greater scale.
