Abstract: Objective To assess the effects of diversity training in disasters emergency management among middle school students in minority areas. Methods Totally,8 middle schools( 485 students) from minority areas in Guizhou province were selected by random-cluster sampling. Diversity training in disaster emergency management was conducted and assessed for short-term and long-term effect. Results Before training,the score of knowledge,attitude,behavioral intention,self-efficacy and total score was( 10. 28 ± 3. 63)( 39. 33 ± 6. 53)( 23. 83 ± 4. 66)( 23. 27 ± 4. 78)( 96. 79 ± 14. 39),respectively. After training the score was( 16. 28 ± 2. 97)( 43. 72 ± 4. 93)( 26. 67 ± 3. 26)( 29. 24 ± 2. 92) and( 115. 91 ± 11. 66),respectively. Three months later,the scores were( 14. 67 ± 3. 98)( 41. 81 ± 6. 04)( 25. 25 ± 3. 89)( 26. 49 ± 4. 92) and( 108. 22 ± 15. 06),respectively. The scores were improved after training and three months later( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Diversity training method can effectively improve the ability of disaster emergency management among middle school students.
