Water model experimental study on the behavior of fluid flow in slab caster mold

Abstract: Taking the 250 mm×2 100 mm slab caster mold as the research object,the effects of different processing parameters of the SEN on the behavior of fluid flow in slab caster mold were studied with cast speed 0.88 m/min.The results showed that when the submerged depth was 57 mm after using No.1SEN(The original scheme),the value of the level fluctuation reached 3.67 mm and slag entrainment phenomenon was serious;the impact depth of stream was 205 mm.However the value of the level fluctuation decreased to 2.74 mm after using No.5 SEN and slag entrainment phenomenon almost disappeared;the impact depth of stream was 177 mm. The conclusion is that No.5SEN is the optimal structure parameters and the submerged depth is 57 mm to 67 mm.
