Development and production of Q345R steel with microelement vanadium and titanium

Abstract: The Q345 Rsteel used for boilers and pressure vessels has been developed successfully by means of microelement V and Ti micro-alloying design and controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology by Shougang Qian’an Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd..The chemical composition,metallurgy quality and mechanical property of Q345 Rsteel batch-produced were analyzed in detail.The results showed that the Q345 R steel which met the national standard and the requirements of users could be developed and produced through microelement Vanadium and Titanium micro alloying(the mass fraction of V≤0.025 %,Ti≤0.025 %)of low carbon manganese steel with the chemical composition of 0.17 %C-0.35 %Si-1.40 % Mn.A small amount of V and Ti element composite addition has very small effect on the microstructure of Q345 Rsteel,which can′t produce obvious fine grain strengthening,but can result obvious precipitation strengthening.
