Abstract: A unique genealogy of Critical Curric ulum Theory has been formed since 1970 s. In its family tree, there are three branches: Emancipation Theory, Reproduction Theory, and Resistance Theory. Also, three orientations of Reproduction Theory have been formed: Economic- reproductive Model, Cultural- reproductive Model, and Hegemonic- state reproductive Model. The Critical Curriculum Theory takes ‘Social- critic’ as the spiritual pursuit, and focuses on three research themes:(1) hidden curriculum,(2) social justice, and(3) elimination of discrimination, which bring vigor and vitality to the field of contemporary curriculum studies.
