Abstract: Under the field of institutionalized school education, standardized production of childhood can be studied from the ideology and the reality. In the respect of ideology, the modern western view of children enters China since the May Fourth Movement, which gain legitimacy through school education. Therefore, Chinese local view of children is fully critiqued, while standardized view of children is popular. In the respect of reality, childhood is co- producted by positioning childhood,inputting standardized experience and measurement of childhood. Rediscovering the local connotation of Chinese childhood and exploring the the ways of breaking the dominate institutionalization of education may be the ways to the possibility of non- standardized childhood.
